Itinerary

Your 4-Day Walking Safari Itinerary

Day 01 :
Arrival and Orientation in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your private guide meets you for the transfer to your lodge in Arusha. In the evening, your guide runs through the walking safari, from what to wear to how to move quietly and safely in the bush.

Midrange: Garden-view lodge with cosy rooms.

Luxury: Boutique villa with panoramic terraces and concierge service.

Day 02 :
Tarangire National Park

Drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and towering baobabs. Join a ranger-led walk along riverine paths, looking for elephants, giraffes and birdlife from a safe distance. Enjoy a picnic lunch beneath an ancient baobab, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Midrange: Comfortable safari tents close to the park.

Luxury: Spacious luxury tents with private decks and personalised camp service.

Day 03 :
Ngorongoro Highlands and Crater

Head up to the Ngorongoro highlands for a guided walk along the crater rim, where montane forest shelters colourful birds, endemic plants and smaller wildlife. Later, descend to the crater floor for a game drive among zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and, with luck, black rhinos. End the day with sunset views from the rim.

Midrange: Tented camp near the crater rim with scenic views.

Luxury: Luxury lodge with private balconies, fine dining and spa services.

Day 04 :
Lake Manyara and Departure

Set out on an early walk along the forest edges and lakeshore near Lake Manyara, where baboons, birds and flamingos are often active in the morning light. Afterwards, return to Arusha by road for midrange guests, or by light aircraft for luxury guests, in time for your onward flight.
