Frequently Asked Questions.

Depends. In Tanzania, the herds calve on the southern Serengeti plains from January to March. From July to
October, they move through the northern Serengeti and cross the Mara River into Kenya’s Masai Mara.

Yes. Our 7 Days Zanzibar Luxury Safari pairs Tanzania’s wildlife with Zanzibar’s beaches. The 10-Day Kenya Bush & Beach Small Group Departure does the same on Kenya’s coast. These safari itineraries attract visitors who want game drives followed by a few relaxed days by the Indian Ocean.

Both the trails lead to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point at 5,895 m. The 9-day Northern Circuit is longer and quieter, giving your body more time to acclimatize. The 7-day Shira Route is shorter and is best for experienced trekkers. The dry months of January to March and June to October offer the best time to trek.

The Lion Trail is a predator-focused safari with tracking and big-cat sightings, within a private, guided setting. The Meerkat Trail takes you up close to habituated meerkat colonies in the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi region. The dry season in Botswana, May to October, is best for wildlife viewing.

You need a passport valid for at least six months. Depending on your nationality, you require a visa or electronic travel authorization (Kenya uses an eTA; Tanzania offers an e-visa). You must have a yellow fever certificate if you arrive from an affected country. Rules change. Check the official immigration websites before you travel.
