Kenya’s Sanctuaries
Kenya’s First Sanctuary for Endangered Impalas
Kisumu Impala Sanctuary is known as the “Lake Shore Walk with Impalas,” offering a peaceful escape with breathtaking lake views, shaded forests, and savannah grasslands fringed by papyrus swamps.
Originally established to protect a threatened population of local impalas, the sanctuary has blossomed into a vital refuge for both free-ranging and captive wildlife. Hippo Point is a vital tourism spot in this sanctuary. The Big Five, 115 recorded avian species, and various primate species such as olive baboons and blue monkeys exist freely.
