Itinerary

Your Day in Nairobi, Stop by Stop

08:00 AM
Hotel Pickup:

Your driver-guide meets you at your Nairobi hotel and heads south-west towards the green suburb of Karen, at the foot of the Ngong Hills.

08:30 AM
Karen Blixen Museum:

Begin at the farmhouse of Danish author Karen Blixen, who lived here from 1917 to 1931. Walk through the rooms and gardens that shaped Out of Africa, with the Ngong Hills framing the view she wrote about.

11:00 AM
David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust:

Join the trust’s morning visiting hour as orphaned elephant calves come in from the forest for their bottle feed. Keepers share each calf’s rescue story and explain the long journey back to the wild. You may also see a young rhino in their care.

01:00 PM
Lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden:

Slow down over lunch at the Tamambo restaurant, set in quiet gardens a short drive from the museum.

02:30 PM
Giraffe Centre:

Climb the raised feeding platform and meet the endangered Rothschild’s giraffes face to face. Feed them by hand and learn how the centre protects this rare subspecies.

03:30 PM
Kazuri Beads Factory:

Tour the workshop where local women shape, fire and paint handmade ceramic beads and pottery. It is a meaningful place to pick up souvenirs that directly support their livelihoods.

05:00 PM
Hotel Drop-off:

Return to your hotel after a full day of stories, wildlife and culture.
