Climb Mount Meru
Explore the Volcanic Mountain of Meru
Mount Meru is an active stratovolcano known for its huge cliffs. The mountain is challenging to climb. Located within Arusha National Park, Mount Meru offers an adventurous trekking experience.
Mt. Meru demands the climbers to acquire technical climbing skills more than the routes on Kilimanjaro. An armed ranger accompanies climbers to the summit to protect them from wild animal threats. You can start your climb through Mount Meru’s diverse vegetation, montane forest, moorland, semidesert, and alpine desert. Travellers can spot wildlife like leopards, antelopes, buffalo, colobus monkeys, and more than 400 bird species on the lower slopes of the mountain. The mountain combines a conventional trek with a walking safari through a diverse range of ecosystems.
