Discover Kenya’s Black Rhino Conservancy

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya is an award-winning community conservation sanctuary. This is an ideal place to see the rare Black Rhino, and it also offers many alternative safari experiences.

Lewa Downs has been a highly exclusive wildlife hunting ground for some time; however, it gained fame when Prince William of Britain proposed to Catherine Middleton there in 2010. The place is known to have one of the greatest conservation achievements globally. Various endangered species, such as the endangered Grevy’s zebra, along with other wildlife like elephants, lions, cheetahs, and giraffes, are found there.

Our Commitment

Protecting Kenya’s Wildlife Sanctuaries

Originally founded in the 1980s as a small rhino sanctuary to combat severe poaching, Lewa now safely hosts roughly 10% of Kenya’s black rhinoceros population and 14% of its white rhinoceros population. At Safarizo, we partner with local conservation experts and sanctuary teams to raise awareness of illegal rhino poaching and the need for protection.
